Green tea has long been associated with working wonders in regards to people's health. There have been several studies done where the one group was given a daily allotment of green tea and the control group was not given any at all. The green tea group lost a noticeable amount of weight compared to the control group. This is but one of the benefits that it is known for.
The antioxidants found in these teas, particularly green tea are said to reduce heart disease and cancer, help with weight loss, and increase bone density. One such study shows that two cups of green per day reduce ovarian cancer risks by 46 percent, as well prevent blood clotting. However, a Japanese study published in the September 2006 Journal of American Medical Association has results showing that consuming green teas lowers death rates from heart disease.
Tea is one of those foods. Black tea (which is green tea that has been oxidized) has about 3-10 percent water-extractable antioxidants. Green tea has around 30-40 percent. Lots of research has focused specifically on the health benefits of green tea, like reducing risk of some cancers, reduce risk of Alzheimer's, helping with weight management, and more. (Thus the push to consume green tea when possible!)
EGCG is one that is known as a flavonoid. Various plants are known to contain EGCG, and it is a substance that can offer a great advantage in protecting the body against such problems as heart disease and even cancer. It is well known for being the main reason why the popular choice of antioxidant green tea can offer such a huge advantage to the health of an endless number of people. Some of the more potent polyphenols are considered to be both the vitamins C and E, and each of these is an important key ingredient that can be found in antioxidant green tea.
However, there is no indication that mega-doses of vitamins of any kind are beneficial.When it comes to getting the green tea antioxidant, the choice may be to drink the beverage. If you drink too much, you may get too much caffeine. A little caffeine is not bad for you, but a lot causes anxiety, nervousness, insomnia and other health problems.
Aspalathin contains phenolic acids such as ferulic acid, p-coumaric acid, vanillic acid, syringic acid , p-hydroxybenzoic acid, caffeic acid and protocatechuic acid. It also contains flavonoids such as isoquercitrin, rutin, quercetin, iso-vitexin, vitexin, chrysoeriol, orientin, iso-orientin and luteolin. So much for those scientific names, these compounds are all beneficial to the body.
What is the function these antioxidants play when helping you recovery from exercise? it is the reticence of free radicals formed during work out. Any time you do cardiovascular exercise, free radicals are made in you bodys muscle tissue. If you have an adequate supply of antioxidants around an hour before you workout your body can greatly reduce the damage from free radicals, this will in turn improve your muscular recovery.
